Kim Peace is an inspired speaker reaching into the hearts of many as she speaks out against global and local and internal violence.
Kim believes that collective change is a direct result of awareness, education, and personal transformation.
As a strong advocate and activist, Kim is one that unabashedly calls out hatred in all of its violent forms. With her audiences, she examines the roots of our violent historical past, investigates its patterns and cycles, and proposes alternative solutions.
Working in Child and Family Welfare for over 16 years, and as a Masters level social worker, Peace has served as a counselor, educator, and peer mentor, while designing curricula to expose oppression, teach collaborative advocacy, create and sustain support groups and community outreach efforts.
As a community nonviolence trainer, Peace teaches principles of social justice, nonviolence, and steps for social change.
Peace is recognized as a founder of Peace Ambassadors, a youth-led, adult supported organization that offers youth an opportunity to teach peers about conflict mediation, personal strength and responsibility, and steps in becoming an UPSTANDER on their campus, in their homes, and in their communities. This program has been followed by KVOA television and supported by Ben’s Bells, Teaching Tolerance, Nonviolence Legacy Project, and Congressman Ron Barber.
